Lane's First Christmas - Opryland - Nashville

A place gleaming with over 2 million Christmas lights and a spectacular show put on by the Radio City Rockettes including a live nativity scene (Yes, live camel and live sheep) just brought out the true meaning and joy of what this celebration is all about...it's about pulling out all the stops to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ..who was born to us and died for us..to save us from our sin.  What an honor it was to celebrate His birth in such a spectacular way.  Here are a few pictures to capture our visit. 

My most recent activities include planning Lane's First Birthday Party.  As I am planning, I can't help but reflect on our visit to Nashville.  Every inch was covered with gleaming lights and lined with beautiful ribbons and bows.  I am having so much fun planning Lane's first birthday party!  I want to pour out love into it all because I am so overwhelmed with joy and happiness for our son.  I want to celebrate his life.  And that, my friend, is what Christmas is all about...abundant joy and happiness for the birth of our Savior..to celebrate his life.  What a spectacular birthday party for Jesus it is.  So, "Deck the Halls with Boughs of Holly and sing "Joy to the World"!  It's a day worth celebrating in a big way.
